Saltash
May Fair
30th of April 2011
What bad weather?
Yes it rained for a bit. But it didn’t stop the visitors to this year fair having a great time. We kicked off with a great performance by the Saltash Town Band leading the parade of youth down Fore Street.
A huge variety of stalls lined the street with entertainers wandering the streets.
Live entertainment at the top and bottom of town went down a storm. Hog Roast, Tai, Caribbean, fish and chips, Crepes, Italian, pub grub and so much more to tickle the taste buds.
Town Crier competition, presentations and awards.
All this supplied free of charge and by a small committee of volunteers with help on the day from 355 squadron Cadets.

Fore Street Arena
The Cooperative .Big Band (mixed age band) brought us Funk, Soul, Blues and Standards. The rain didn’t slow the pace down for these guys.
Peter Crawford. Peter once again gave a great performance even though some selfish individuals brought their cars onto the street over an hour before the road reopened. This gave the impression that the fair was over and the public left the street to avoid being hit by cars. So a big thanks to Peter for staying on during this unfortunate incident.
Victoria Gardens
The Saltash Town Band. The juniors join for the second set
Elfic. Juggler and Jester. Circus Workshop entertained the crowds in Victoria gardens.

The Cornish Wurzells were a delight for the ears. Great music and amazing sense of humour. This was fun, if you get a chance you must see them. They even helped me build the stage when they saw me panicking with the parade getting closer to the arena with things to finish.
Thanks guys.

Saltash based Irish/Celtic band. Popular across the South West. Gave us a show that brought the public back into the arena even with the weather closing in on us.

The great and ever so popular show was brought to us again by the best in the business. Mark gives us a show that is not matched by any other.

This separate event is supported by the
Saltash May Fair
